The Admission Counselor plays a significant role in supporting the mission and enrollment goals.  As a crucial member of the Office of University Admissions, the Admission Counselor represents the institution to prospective students, parents, and college counselors in an effort to recruit first year and transfer students to Marywood University. This includes assessing students and planning lessons in alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education curriculum and Marywood University.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to motivate and retain adult ESL learners, and must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with outside agencies, students, and administrative staff.  The ESL Instructor is responsible to the Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) Program Director and ESL Coordinator under the supervision of the Assistant to the Provost of Research and Sponsored Programs.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Serve as the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Coach. Duties include, but are not limited to:

    1. Full responsibility for coaching the teams, including the traditional season, non-traditional season and off-season conditioning/activities
    2. Striving towards and attaining competitive success for the Cross Country and Track and Field teams
    3. Recruit qualified and competitive student-athletes to Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Specific and defined target recruiting and roster (retention) numbers established in conjunction with the Director of Athletics must be met on an annual basis to insure current position status
    4. Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches
    5. Develop an appropriate and working knowledge of involved NCAA, Conference, and Marywood University athletic policies and procedures

    7. Responsible for overseeing team fundraising endeavors and participation in department-wide fundraising initiatives

                      Position Responsibilities:
                      ● Check-in with students on an as-needed and/or continuous basis
                      ● Assist students with progress and growth: academic, career, and social/emotional issues and
                      challenges
                      ● Collaborate with community resources to help students with economic, emotional, or physical
                      issues
                      ● Connect with families as needed
                      ● Communicate with stakeholders to help them better understand a student’s challenges
                      ● Provide stakeholders with information about community resources to help with abuse, violence,
                      hunger, homelessness, lack of healthcare, etc.
                      ● Refer students and families to outside counseling/therapy and/or other supports as needed
                      ● Collaborate with faculty and administration to implement SEL strategies into daily learning and
                      operations
                      ● Provide additional services and support as requested by the Principal and President


                      Required Qualifications:

                      The successful candidate will have a school counseling background and the capacity and desire to work with middle school students; the successful candidate will also have a passion and receptivity for the mission of NativityMiguel School of Scranton
