Alumni and Staff Member Bring Ulysses of Scranton to Local and International Stages

Members of the Marywood University community are helping bring an original production from Northeastern Pennsylvania to audiences at home and abroad.

Marywood alumni Mandy Boyle Pennington '10, '11 and Kim Wrazien Leff '01 are featured in the cast of Ulysses of Scranton, an original play written by Conor Kelly O'Brien, Marywood University's Civic & Cultural Development Coordinator.

The production will be performed at the Sanctuary Theatre in Scranton on July 24 and 25 before traveling to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland this August, one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world.

Ulysses of Scranton first premiered at the 2025 Scranton Fringe Festival before being selected to participate in an international cultural exchange with Ballina, Ireland, one of Scranton's sister cities. Following its performances in Ireland, the production continues its international journey with its upcoming run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The collaboration highlights the creativity and talent of the Marywood community, with alumni and faculty contributing to a production that has gained recognition both locally and internationally.
