Dr. Wisenburn received his B.S. in Communication Disorders from UMass Amherst, M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Iowa, M.S. in Computer Science from Boston University, and Ph.D in Speech-Language Pathology from the University at Buffalo. His research interests are aphasia (especially synthesizing the evidence-based clinical research), and in augmentative/alternative communication (including the use of natural language processing to improve AAC systems, and on AAC for Spanish speakers). Dr. Wisenburn is a PA licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience working clinically in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and nursing homes with a wide variety of adult acquired communication disorders. At Marywood, Dr. Wisenburn teaches courses in AAC and adult neurogenic communication disorders, and supervises both individual and group therapy sessions.
