Dr. Kaitlyn Clarke brings over ten years of experience as a speech-language pathologist to her courses at Marywood University. Dr. Clarke graduated summa cum laude from Misericordia University in 2011 with a master of science degree in speech-language pathology. She later attained her doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Pennsylvania State University.
Over the course of her career, she has worked in various clinical settings such as skilled nursing facilities, schools, and clinical research environments. Her research interests include language and learning differences in autism, as it relates to neural level differences and how to best design methods of instruction based on these differences.
Dr. Clarke started at Marywood as an assistant professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department in the fall of 2022. Prior to this position, Dr. Clarke held the position of adjunct clinical supervisor within the department. Before making her Marywood debut, she taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in augmentative and alternative communication. She has also given lectures on autism, behavior and language..
The best part of her job is having the opportunity to share the knowledge that she has gained from her experiences in the field with students and watching them apply this insight to their clinical work. She also enjoys continuing to learn from the experiences of her students and colleagues.
