Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies - Justice (BA)

Learn How to Empower Communities and Lead with Purpose in Environmental Studies - Justice

Our Environmental Studies - Justice program is designed for those who see environmental issues through the lens of equity and social justice. The Justice track in Environmental Studies acknowledges that environmental degradation often disproportionately affects marginalized communities, and it prepares students to tackle these injustices head-on. Through a curriculum that integrates environmental law, policy, and ethics with a strong emphasis on social justice, students learn the complexities of advocating for communities affected by environmental harm. This program not only aims to educate about the challenges but also to empower students with the tools to seek solutions, focusing on policy reform, community engagement, and the promotion of sustainable practices that ensure environmental benefits are shared equitably.

Students in the Justice track are prepared to lead with compassion and conviction, equipped with a comprehensive understanding of how environmental policies and practices can be leveraged to uplift and protect vulnerable populations. Through immersive experiences, including internships, community-based projects, and collaborative research, you'll gain practical skills and a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of social and environmental well-being. Graduates of this program emerge as knowledgeable advocates and leaders, ready to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. By emphasizing critical analysis, ethical reasoning, and strategic action, the Justice track empowers students to make meaningful contributions to the field of environmental justice.
