Nicole Koestler Receives a Speech-Language-Hearing Association Scholarship
Marywood University Communications Sciences and Disorders (CSD) department student, Nicole Koestler, Hazlet, N.J., junior speech-language pathology student, was recently notified that she is one of two recipients of the 2021 Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania (NESHAP) Scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a full-time matriculating student who demonstrates academic excellence and involvement in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology during their undergraduate studies. The scholarship was announced at the Association’s Annual Spring Conference in April.
NESHAP is a professional organization consisting of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, speech-language and hearing scientists, and educators of the hearing impaired within Northeastern Pennsylvania. Its mission is to promote the interests of, and to provide the highest quality services for professionals in the field, and to advocate for people with communication disabilities.
Marywood University’s Speech-Language Pathology program provides students with a variety of academic coursework and clinical practicum experiences, according to the standards set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), to prepare them, from a family-centered perspective, for professional careers serving children and adults who have communication disorders. The CSD faculty at Marywood are dedicated to providing students with a quality education and opportunities to integrate theory and research into clinical practice.
