Saturday Art Studio Event Supports Student Trip to NYC

Published

A new weekend art initiative at Marywood University is giving students a chance to get creative while supporting a future field trip to New York City.

The Saturday Art Studio invites students to the Insalaco Center for Studio Arts each weekend to spend time creating artwork in a relaxed, welcoming environment. For a $5 entry fee, participants can enjoy access to the studio space along with coffee while they work.

Open to all students—regardless of major or artistic experience—the event is designed to introduce more of the campus community to the opportunities available within Marywood’s art department. Organizers hope the casual setting encourages students to explore creativity and connect with others who share similar interests.

The event takes place in the Sculpture Studio on the first floor of the Insalaco building. While the space is provided, students are asked to bring their own art supplies.

Proceeds from the event will go directly toward supporting art students’ field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, helping make the experience more accessible for those involved.

For more information, students can contact the event organizer at colley@maryu.marywood.edu.
