Trustee Michael Bugno '98 Chairing "Celebrate Marywood"

Trustee Michael Bugno '98 is chairing the upcoming “Celebrate Marywood” event at Marywood University, which will honor Virginia Doherty McGregor, Scranton, and Father Thomas M. Muldowney, Moscow. The festive annual celebration, set for Thursday, May 7, 2026, will take place outdoors at the Motherhouse and Seminary Morgan Memorial Garden in the heart of Marywood’s campus.

Proceeds from this year’s event will fund the renovation and transformation of the Center for Natural & Health Sciences into a state-of-the-art facility supporting nursing, physician assistant, pre-med, and science programs, including upgraded laboratory spaces, enhanced classrooms, and advanced simulation environments. Marywood’s natural and health sciences students, who consistently attain outstanding licensure pass rates ranging from 98% to 100%, gain the knowledge and hands-on experience that power the region’s healthcare and STEM workforce.

Mr. Bugno, formerly of Clarks Summit, is an accomplished experiential leader specializing in client programming, global events, and integrated marketing experiences that strengthen relationships and bring brands to life. He brings more than 25 years of experience planning and executing corporate trade shows and global events for organizations ranging from mid‑sized businesses to Fortune 50 companies.

Presently, he serves as Vice President, Experiential Client Programming at Fiserv, a global financial technology company, based in New York, N.Y. Prior to Fiserv, Mr. Bugno held leadership roles at Lectra, Food Network, and Comedy Central. He began his career at Walt Disney World, where he worked in Entertainment as well as College & International Marketing and Recruiting.

Mr. Bugno graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts Administration from Marywood University and has maintained a longstanding relationship with the university.

He received the Marywood Alumni Association Recent Graduate Award in 2004 and served as a trustee from 2006 to 2015 before returning to the Board in 2019. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. During his tenure, Mr. Bugno has led multiple committees, plays an active role in Marywood’s Annual Giving Day, and has chaired and supported sponsorship efforts for Celebrate Marywood, the university’s signature annual fundraising event (formerly the Annual Community Leadership Celebration) since its inception in 2014.

In 2021, he created “The Bugno Buzz” on LinkedIn, a platform focused on making people feel good, educating and expanding minds, spotlighting social responsibility and community awareness, and advancing careers.
