Dr. David Palmiter Approved for Fellow Status
David Palmiter, Ph.D., professor of psychology at Marywood University, was recently approved for fellow status with the American Psychological Association (APA) for two divisions: Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (division 53) and Society of Media Psychology and Technology (division 46). Dr. Palmiter is also a fellow for APA's largest division, Psychologists in Independent Practice (division 42).
APA’s 54 divisions are interest groups organized by members, representing subdisciplines of psychology (clinical, experimental, etc.) and topical areas (aging, trauma, etc.). Fellow status is an honor bestowed upon APA members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. Fellow status requires that a person's work has had a national impact on the field of psychology, beyond a local, state or regional level.
Dr. Palmiter has more than 25 years of experience as a psychologist. In addition to being a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, he is an author, past president of the PA Psychological Association (PPA) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and PPA. He has been a professor at Marywood University for 21 years. Dr. Palmiter, who specializes in childhood, adolescent and family issues, also maintains a private practice in Clarks Summit.
