More than 500 Marywood alumni have participated in the long-standing Search Retreat tradition, and this year’s Search XXXVI continued that legacy with another meaningful weekend for students.
Marywood University students led and participated in the annual Search Retreat in January 2026 at the Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. Organized through Marywood University Campus Ministry, the retreat offers students an opportunity for reflection, faith-sharing, and community building in a supportive environment.
Search has remained an unbroken tradition for Campus Ministry for the past 36 years. Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program continued, demonstrating the commitment of students and leaders to keeping the experience alive.
This year’s retreat presented an additional challenge when a winter snowstorm approached the region. Through careful planning and a few schedule adjustments, organizers were able to move ahead with the retreat while safely staying ahead of the storm.
Despite the weather, participants were still able to experience the heart of the Search Retreat: a weekend centered on encountering God’s love, deepening faith, and strengthening connections within the Marywood community.
