Liz Adams '25
Liz Adams is making the most of her college experience. As a senior studying Multimedia Communication and Applied Theology, Adams' journey is characterized by her enthusiasm for learning, involvement in campus activities, and commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Adams’ time at Marywood has been defined by her active participation in both academic and extracurricular activities. She and her twin sister, Maddie, also a student at Marywood, have embraced the University's opportunities with open arms. Their involvement with Abide, a women's ministry group on campus, and their roles as writers and editors for The Wood Word, Marywood's electronic student newspaper, have enriched their college experience. Additionally, their internships in Marywood’s Marketing Department have provided them with invaluable hands-on experience.
"Adams reflects on her time at Marywood, saying, 'I love the chance to create anything, apply our skills, and collaborate with people who have different talents. It's uniquely wonderful here. You're more than just a number, people actually know each other's names. What I love most is feeling like I'm part of a community.'
Adams’ college experience extends beyond the classroom. She and Maddie co-host the popular podcast Courageously Kind, which they started as a quarantine project during their senior year of high school. The podcast, now boasting over 100,000 subscribers across 60 countries, spreads messages of kindness and positivity, highlights businesses and organizations giving back to their communities, and advocates for face equality.
As Adams looks to the future, she is eager to continue her work on the podcast and pursue a career in communication that focuses on positive messaging and kindness-geared media. Her advice to fellow students is rooted in her own experiences: “Get involved as early as possible. Just try new things and see if they fit. Not everything is going to work out and that is perfectly okay.”
Adams is a shining example of how Marywood University students can leverage their education and extracurricular activities to prepare for a bright future. Her dedication to kindness, advocacy, and leadership not only enhances her own life, but also positively impacts the lives of those around her.
