Architecture Student Recognized for Academic Achievement

Marywood University's School of Architecture proudly announces that one of its students, Rye Ahronson from Scranton, has been recognized with the 2023 Architectural Excellence Student Award by AIA Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Chapter of The American Institute of Architects. Each year, AIA Pennsylvania selects one outstanding student from each of the seven Pennsylvania schools with a NAAB-accredited architecture program. Ahronson represents Marywood University in this elite group, a testament to his proficiency in academics and design.

Ahronson, on the Dean’s List and set to earn his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree in 2024, has demonstrated a keen understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of architecture. His receipt of the AIA Pennsylvania Architectural Excellence Student Award is based on his exceptional academic performance and his readiness to take on the professional challenges in the field of architecture.

"It was a great experience to be exposed to architectural projects happening in Pennsylvania," said Ahronson. "This award inspires me to continually grow and push myself further in the field of architecture."

AIA Pennsylvania, representing nearly 3,000 members, is a key player in Pennsylvania's construction industry, which is valued at nearly $17 billion. The organization advocates for the architectural profession, emphasizing the importance of design in economic prosperity and public welfare. Ahronson's affiliation with this influential group positions him as an emerging professional ready to contribute to the architectural landscape.
