Sara Sauers has been a pivotal part of Marywood University since 2012, starting her journey as the Help Desk Manager. Over the years, her dedication and passion for information technology have led her to take on various roles, ultimately leading to her current position as Chief Information Officer (CIO) with Dynamic Campus.

With an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Sauers' career has always been closely tied to the field she loves. Her pursuit of an MBA was driven by her desire to become a well-rounded leader, equipping her with the skills necessary for strategic planning and forecasting within the IT department. She credits the faculty at Marywood for their genuine interest in students' success, which she found incredibly supportive during her studies.

Balancing work and school presented challenges, especially with the demands of her role, but Sauers' commitment never wavered. Her advice to anyone considering a similar path is simple: "Just do it." She emphasizes that the process, while daunting at first, is manageable and rewarding.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Sauers values the sense of community at Marywood. She cherishes the relationships that she’s built with colleagues, students, and faculty, appreciating the close-knit environment where people know each other's families and lives beyond work.

Looking ahead, Sauers sees the future of technology in higher education being significantly shaped by artificial intelligence. While she believes AI has its place and can be highly beneficial, she also recognizes that it cannot replace human functions entirely.

In her personal time, Sauers enjoys relaxing with friends. While she once enjoyed bowling, these days, her focus is on spending quality time with loved ones. Sauers’ journey at Marywood is a testament to her dedication to both her field and the community, making her a respected and integral member of the university.
